Jaws Gets the Lego Treatment

Lego has announced the upcoming release of a new set inspired by the 1975 classic film Jaws. The set, part of the Lego Ideas series, includes a brick-built Orca boat, the iconic shark known as Bruce, and minifigures of the main characters: Chief Brody, Quint, and Matt Hooper. The set will be available on August 1, 2024, for $159.99.

Details of the Set

The Lego Jaws set, numbered 21350, consists of 1,497 pieces and is designed for advanced builders. The set allows fans to recreate the famous scenes from the film, featuring the Orca boat and Bruce the shark. The Orca measures 23 inches in length and comes with various accessories, including a harpoon, spear, and barrels.

Unique Features

The set offers two display modes: a peaceful setting with the shark on a stand or an action scene where Bruce attacks the Orca, set on a seawater base. Lego has also released a 90-second Lego version of the Jaws film, titled “JAWS … in a Jiffy,” which adds a comedic twist to the iconic story.

Origins and Availability

The Jaws Lego set originated from a fan submission by Johnny Campbell and received enough votes from the Lego community to become a reality. The set will be available for Lego Insiders on August 3, 2024, and to the general public on August 6, 2024.

Anticipation and More

Fans are eagerly awaiting the release, with many excited to build and display this homage to the classic film. Additionally, Lego continues to engage its audience with other upcoming releases, including new sets from the Star Wars and Technic series.
